Celebrate Earth Day with a Special Presentation at Thomas B. Norton Public Library
Thomas B. Norton Public Library is excited to welcome Nikki Cobb, Urban Regional Extension Agent with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System of Alabama A&M University, for a special Earth Day program you won’t want to miss.
Presentation Title: Alabama’s Wonders and How We Can Help
Alabama is home to an incredible variety of landscapes, plants, and wildlife. From forests and rivers to coastlines and wetlands, these natural wonders make our state a beautiful place to call home. In honor of Earth Day, Nikki Cobb will explore the importance of Alabama’s ecosystems and share simple, meaningful ways each of us can help keep them healthy.
Her presentation will highlight everyday actions—reducing waste, planting native species, protecting local waterways, and keeping our communities clean—that work together to preserve Alabama’s natural beauty for future generations.
Guests can expect a blend of engaging, traditional presentation and handsโon learning. As a special bonus, Nikki plans to give away a young tree and/or blueberry plants to encourage participants to take home a living reminder of Earth Day’s mission.
This program is free, open to all ages, and requires no registration.

After, their Vegetation Management Crew will bring out a ๐๐ช๐๐ ๐๐ฉ ๐ฉ๐ง๐ช๐๐ for an upโclose look at how they safely trim trees and keep branches away from power lines. It’s a great chance to learn how this work protects wildlife, prevents outages, and keeps everyone safe.
