Swimming & Aquatic Programs

The Gulf Shores Swim Team and Aquatic Programs is provided by the City of Gulf Shores Recreation Division at the David L. Bodenhamer Center. The aquatic program offers a variety of instructional classes including water aerobics, lifeguard certification, group lessons and more. We pride ourselves in our comprehensive programming that allows us to provide everyone an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to national competitor.

Water Aerobics Classes

Rec Pass and Splash Pass members can enjoy an array of water aerobics classes at no additional charge. Click here to view the full schedule or download a printable copy.

Private & Group Lessons

Our program is designed to introduce young swimmers to the water and help them to gain comfort and confidence in the aquatic environment. We focus on safety in and around the water and basic swimming skills. Time will be spent getting acclimated to provide a productive session of lessons. Each swimmer's needs will be evaluated by their instructor at the start of the session, and the speed of progression, teaching methods and length of time actively swimming may look different for each individual. While it typically takes a child 3 to 4 months (3 sessions of lessons) to learn basic swim skills, we strive to meet the specific needs of your swimmer.
