[ARCHIVED] City of Gulf Shores announces Christmas and New Year's holiday closure schedule

Christmas Closure

As you begin to make plans for the holidays, please take note of the following City of Gulf Shores closures:

Christmas Holiday Closures:

  • Police, Fire, and other emergency services will remain open to ensure public safety and health. 
  • Administrative offices for the City of Gulf Shores will be closed on Friday, December 22, and Monday, December 25. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, December 26.
  • The Gulf Shores City Store will be closed on Monday, December 25. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, December 26. 
  • The Thomas B. Norton Library will be closed from Friday, December 22, to Monday, December 25. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, December 26. 
  • The Gulf Shores Museum will be closed from Friday, December 22, to Monday, December 25. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, December 26.
  • The Bodenhamer Recreation Center, George C. Meyer Tennis Center, and Cultural Center will be closed Sunday, December 24, and Monday, December 25. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, December 26.
  • The Pickleball courts and Tennis courts will remain open and available for play throughout the holidays. 
  • Republic Services Garbage and Recycling Services will run one day late. Please place bins out one day later than your usual pickup day.
  • Yard Debris/Bulky Pick-up routes will move up one day; please have debris out one day ahead of your usual pickup day. Trucks will be running December 18-21. 
  • If you plan on recycling your Christmas trees for dune restoration efforts at the Gulf State Park, please place your clean trees, stripped of all decorations, in a separate pile beside debris.

  • The Gulf Shores Museum will be closed Friday, December 29, to Monday, January 1. Regular operations will resume on Tuesday, January 2.
