Road Closures & Shuttle Information for the 52nd Annual National Shrimp Festival
The City of Gulf Shores would like to make all residents and visitors aware of the following road closures and detours related to the 52nd Annual National Shrimp Festival on October 9-12.

Traffic Closures/Detours
Closing Monday, October 6:

  • The West Gulf Place parking lot will be closed to the public to be utilized for tent and food vendor setup
  • Highway 59 will be closed at 1st Avenue
  • Highway 182 (Gulf Beach Boulevard) will be closed to the public between East 2nd Street and West 3rd Street, in front of Gulf Place Public Beach
  • East 1st Street will be closed between Highway 182 (Eas Beach Boulevard) and East 1st Avenue.

*Eastbound traffic toward Orange Beach should consider using Highway 180 East or State Park Road Highway 135 as alternate routes.

  • Closing Thursday, October 9:
    East Gulf Place (Resident Parking Lot) will be closed to the public.

 Reopening:

  • All streets will reopen Monday, October 13
  • East Gulf Place (Resident Parking Lot) will reopen Monday, October 13.
  • West Gulf Place will reopen Tuesday, October 14.


 52nd Annual Shrimp Festival Parking & Shuttle Service Information from the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber:

Parking
Parking is on a first come, first serve basis at and around the festival site. We recommend festival attendees take advantage of the shuttle service.

ADA Accessible Lot
Those with disability access parking credentials can utilize the East Gulf Place Gulf Shores Resident Parking Lot (located at 201 E Beach Blvd, Gulf Shores, AL 36542). A security guard will be posted to allow those with proper credentials into the lot. Two of the shuttle stops (see the list below) feature ADA-accessible shuttles.

Shuttle Services
Show your digital ticket on your phone at your stop for your wristband. Shrimp Festival shuttle buses are operated by the City of Gulf Shores School System. Wristbands can be purchased at shuttle stops for $6/day. These wristbands entitle the holder to unlimited rides to and from the festival grounds on the day of purchase. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED WHEN PURCHASING SHUTTLE WRISTBANDS. CARDS ONLY.
*NOTE: PER STATE LAW, CHILDREN UNDER 5 ARE NOT ALLOWED ON OUR SHUTTLE BUSES. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE.

  • Pelican Place: 3800 Gulf Shores Pkwy. - ADA ACCESSIBLE SHUTTLE
  • Waterway Village Lot: 101 W. Canal Dr.
  • Lake Shelby Picnic Area in Gulf State Park: 20115 AL-135
  • Waves Grocery: 1154 West Beach Blvd. - WALK-UP SHUTTLE STOP ONLY - NO PARKING OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE

Orange Beach

  • Rouses Market: 25405 Perdido Beach Blvd. - ADA ACCESSIBLE SHUTTLE 

Shuttle Schedule

  • Thursday: 1:30 p.m. - 10:15 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:45 a.m. - 10:15 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:45 a.m. - 10:15 p.m.
  • Sunday: 9:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m.
