Gulf Shores Fire Rescue Offering Essential First Aid & CPR Training
Gulf Shores Fire Rescue has announced its 2025 schedule of public education courses, providing vital emergency response training to both healthcare professionals and community members.
The department will offer two distinct certification programs throughout the year: Heartsaver CPR/First Aid/AED and Basic Life Support (BLS). Each course is priced at $25 per participant and will take place at Gulf Shores Fire Station 1, located at 1921 West 1st Street.
The Heartsaver CPR/First Aid/AED program is designed for individuals with limited or no medical training who require certification for work or simply want to be prepared for emergencies. These comprehensive sessions will run from 6-9 p.m. on February 3, June 9, and October 6.
For healthcare professionals, including EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and hospital staff, the BLS certification course will be offered from 6-8 p.m. on April 7, August 4, and December 1. Upon completion, participants receive a two-year certification.
"These training programs are fundamental to building a safer community," said EMS Officer Nick Russell, who has been recognized for restructuring the department's EMS training programs. "When more people know how to respond during medical emergencies, we strengthen our city's ability to save lives. Whether you're a healthcare professional or a concerned citizen, these courses provide the skills needed to make a difference when every second counts."
