The NEW YOU begins August 20, 2018! Back by popular demand, the Gulf Shores Recreation Department is hosting a Couch to 5K program, which is a training series for absolute beginners that will get you from the couch to a 5K in only nine weeks! Our goal is to have you ready to jog/run for the target race, the Haunted Hustle on Oct. 19. Training begins on Monday, Aug. 20 - Wednesday, Oct. 17. Classes are held every Monday & Wednesday night from 6-7 p.m. Holly Cade, fitness coordinator for the City of Gulf Shores, is your instructor for this course and has the plan to see you through the finish line. PICKLEBALL OPEN PLAY Everyone is welcome. All players must be at least 18 years old. Must check in at the front desk before walking onto the court. Each game will be played to 11 points. Must win by 2 points, unless there are 4 or more paddles waiting on that court, in which case the game will be played to only 9 points (win by only 1 point). Remember the 3 F's of PB Fun, Fitness and Friendship.
