In the event of an emergency where areas of Gulf Shores are evacuated, Hurricane Re-Entry decals serve to identify those who should be allowed into a restricted area(s) at the appropriate time. These decals also serve as a parking pass to allow residents/property owners access to the resident-only parking area located at East Gulf Place, and free parking at all City of Gulf Shores paid public parking areas.
Obtaining a Hurricane Decal:
Each Gulf Shores resident/property owner should receive two decals mailed to the billing address on record with Baldwin EMC during the month of October every two years at no cost. Up to three additional decals may be purchased in person from City Hall and the Gulf Shores City Store at a cost of $5 each. Proof of residency or property ownership along with a Driver’s License for identification will be required for the purchase of additional hurricane/beach decals in the form of a deed, lease, or utility bill that bears the street address of the property for which the decal is being purchased.
Incoming new residents will not be charged for the initial first two decals.
To obtain a replacement hurricane/beach parking decal, bring the old one (in whatever condition it may be) for an exchange.
Placement of Decal:
Decals must be permanently affixed to the inside windshield on the driver's side of the vehicle.
