Special Events & Programs staff work year-round to provide interesting and entertaining things to do in Gulf Shores. From January through December, events are planned that provide a range of cultural enrichment, seasonal celebration, and simple enjoyment for residents and visitors alike.

Projects from Special Events & Programs include the Entertainment Series, Gulf Shores Outdoors & In free concerts, "Something to Think About" lecture series, July 4th Fireworks, Christmas Tree Lighting & Open House, Gulf Shores Museum, Erie H. Meyer Civic Center & Adult Activity Center management and rental, special celebrations and activities, as well as participating in other events both City-sponsored and community wide.

We present world-famous entertainers and locally-known performers, develop and design print advertising, create copy for release to local and regional media, conceive, construct and display exhibits based on history and weather-related themes, represent Gulf Shores at area festivals and events, manage space for meetings and private social events, and answer questions about and give directions to area facilities and businesses.
