Explore the Gulf Coast

The City of Gulf Shores invites you to join us each month as we explore the Gulf Coast with a variety of exciting trips and events. Whether you're exploring our natural resources by water, relaxing on a sunset cruise, or attending a show at the world-renowned Saenger Theatre, you're sure to experience the Gulf Coast in a way you never have before. So, what are you waiting for? Join us this month and take advantage of all of the fun you've been missing! 

Current Activities 

Wednesdays: 12 p.m. - 1 p.m.
Bodenhamer Rec Center 

Join us every Wednesday at the Rec Center to walk and socialize with friends. Walking helps with arthritis and maintaining your health. This event is FREE. 

Wednesdays: 10 a.m.
Cultural Center
Join us for bingo every Wednesday at 10 am at the Cultural Center. Complimentary snacks and coffee will be served. This event is FREE.   

Monday & Thursdays: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.  
Cultural Center 
Pickleball is a paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players. The cost is $3/person.

Speaker & Halloween Social 
October 19th: 10 a.m. 
Cultural Center 
Join us for the monthly social and guest speaker. At 10 a.m. Dr. Joy Marvin, from South Baldwin, providing a general presentation on Breast Cancer. Complimentary water, coffee and snacks will be provided. The Halloween Social kicks off from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Costume contest will be at 1 p.m. with raffles to follow.This month's menu features "finger" foods.  Cost is $3/person. Mobile Symphony 

October 14th: 7:00 p.m. 
Join us for a trip to see the Mobile Symphony as they bring Disney's Pizar in concert. This multimedia concert will feature a movie projection screen above the orchestra that will be showing excerpts from your favorite Pixar films wile youe MSO provides the score. Ths will be a unique experience you won't want to miss. The bus will depart from the Cultural Center at 5:30 p.m. There is a $5 cost. Tickets to the symphony must be purchased in advance. To reserve your spot contact the Cultural Center at 251-968-9818.

Health Clinic/Blood Drive
October 28th: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Rite Aid will be offering FREE screenings from Blood Pressure, BMI Calculations to Precripstion reviews. They will also be offering the following immunizations:
  • Pneumonia
  • Flu
  • Tetanus
  • Whooping Cough
  • Shingles (signup required for shingles shot only).                                                  
The shots are free with most insurance policies.

Other facilities that will be attending are as follows:
  • LifeSouth Community Blood Center
  • Southern Rapid Care
  • Life Vantage 
  • Coastal Physical Therapy 
  • Ferrell Family Dental
  • Lifestyle Performance and Medicine

The blood drive will start at 10 a.m. and Heath Clinic will start at 11:30 a.m. If you would like to get the shingles vaccination, contact Viki Neff-Callahan at (251) 981-7019. You may give blood after all shots except the Shingles. If you would like to give before, you my do so.
