Winter Weather and Wind Chill Advisory Issued
The National Weather Service Mobile has issued a Winter Weather and Wind Chill Advisory that includes the City of Gulf Shores and surrounding areas. Precipitation will spread from west to east this afternoon and tonight in the wake of an arctic front moving through the area. A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow are possible along coastal areas. Wind chills are projected to drop into the single digits by early Wednesday morning.
The City of Gulf Shores Public Works Department will monitor the roadways and take necessary precautions to notify the public and keep roads/bridges open. Motorist are advised to exercise caution as bridges may freeze in advance of roads being slippery. Be sure to heed all traffic warnings and abide by all traffic control devices.
