City of Gulf Shores announces closures in honor of Independence Day

In honor of Independence Day...

As you begin to plan the remainder of your holiday week, please take note of the following closures for Independence Day:

Administrative offices for the City of Gulf Shores will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th in observance of Independence Day. Police, fire, and other emergency services will remain open to ensure public safety and health. Regular operations will resume on Thursday, July 5th at 8 a.m.

The City Store & Rental Office, Thomas B. Norton Public Library and the Gulf Shores Museum will be closed Wednesday, July 4th. The David L. Bodenhamer Center will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4th, and there will be no fitness classes during the day. Regular operations for all City facilities will resume Thursday, July 5th.  

Yard debris/bulky pickup will not run on Wednesday, July 4th. Crews will pick up Wednesday's debris on Thursday. Regular operation for debris/bulky pickup will resume on Thursday and Friday.
 
Republic Services Garbage and Recycling Service will run as scheduled.

As you celebrate Independence Day, please remember:  

  1. The sale or use of fireworks within the corporate limits or police jurisdiction of the city is strictly prohibited. 
  2. Cooking with propane and or charcoal on decks, under, or within 10 feet of multifamily dwellings or combustible structures is prohibited. 
  3. Open fires on the beach or in public areas is prohibited.
