Over the past couple of months, the Gulf Shores Recreation Division has been preparing additional fitness facilities at the city owned Cultural Center. This expansion to the north will provide additional fitness space and bring services to an actively growing location of the City.
The City’s Studio Fitness is open Monday through Friday 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. It will feature a limited selection of functional equipment and three classrooms specifically designed to accommodate workout programs such as Barre, TRX Resistance Training, Yoga, Indoor Cycling and a Virtual Fitness kiosk. Aerobic classes with instructors will be held on a weekly class schedule.
Many of these classes will differ from the existing “drop-in” classes at the David L. Bodenhamer Center and participation will be held by reservation only. Any current full membership at the David L. Bodenhamer Center will have unlimited access to the new facility and will also have the ability to register for “RSVP” classes 72 hours in advance at our Customer Service Desk. Fitness, Pool and non-member patrons may reserve a space, if available, 24 hours in advance at the rate of $10 per class.
“We are very excited to provide this new fitness offering and encourage everyone to take advantage of all the amenities Studio Fitness has to offer,” said Recreation Division Manager Nicole Ard. The Cultural Center is located at 19470 Oak Road West (County Road 6) just east of the Sportsplex.
