Gulf Shores celebrates 30th Anniversary as a Tree City USA on Arbor Day Feb. 25

Arbor Day

The City of Gulf Shores and the Beautification Board announce plans for Arbor Day to be Saturday, February 25 from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. at Sims Park Pavilion. Gulf Shores will celebrate its 30th year as a Tree City USA on our local Arbor Day.

Residents of each household that reside within the city limits may select four different trees from the six varieties: Chinese Pistache, PawPaw, Eastern Mayhaw, Dogwood, Flatwoods Plum and Red Maple.

To receive the trees, residents must register at the check-in table with proof of Gulf Shores residency.  Residents receive four tickets per qualifying household. The trees are potted in one gallon containers and are ready for planting.  A brochure giving specifics on each tree is available to residents.  Members of the Gulf Shores Landscape Division will be onsite to answer questions about the trees.

As an additional incentive, drawings will be held at every half hour.  Three fruit trees will be offered in each drawing and residents who are registered and present will be entered into the drawing.
