The City of Gulf Shores will celebrate the Fourth of July with a stunning fireworks display, beginning at 9 p.m. on Monday, July 4. Fireworks will be shot from the Gulf State Park Fishing and Education Pier. In addition to the annual fireworks show, a Salute to the Services and carnival-like activities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at the Gulf Shores Public Beach. “Beginning at 5:30 p.m., we will have stilt walkers, face painters, balloon artists, a live DJ, snow cones and a Salute to the Services starting at 7 p.m. honoring each branch of the armed forces,” said Programs and Events Manager, Brigette Reynolds. “We are excited about continuing our rich Fourth of July tradition and invite all locals and visitors to celebrate with us at Gulf Shores Public Beach.” According to organizers, fireworks will be shot from then end of the 1500 footfishing pier, leaving Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores Public Beach and surrounding areas as ideal locations for spectators. “We can’t thank Gulf State Park enough for their partnership allowing us to put on this wonderful show,” said Reynolds. Gulf State Park’s"Sponsor a Veteran” program allows veterans free sightseeing admission on the pier as well as discounted fishing permits and specials throughout the year. $5 parking donations will be collected at theGulf State Park Beach Pavilion, Gulf State Park Fishing Pier and Lake Shelby Picnic Area on July 4th. Collection boxes will also be available at the pier, pavilion and Gulf Shores Public Beach to support the sponsorship program.
