Meet the SPARC Staff
Programs and Events Supervisor
Ralph Pereda started with the City of Gulf Shores in 2014. Originally from New Jersey, Ralph graduated from Kean University with a degree in Communications. Soon after graduation, he moved to New York City where he became a Recreation Supervisor with the City of New York Department of Parks and Recreation. Ralph has been in the Field of Recreation for over 10 years. Outside of work he enjoys playing soccer, kite surfing and spending time with family and friends.
Amanda Ross is a new mom to a beautiful baby boy. She moved to the Gulf Coast in 2011 from Bartlett, Tennessee. While living in Tennessee, she worked for her church's after school, summer camps and mother's day out programs for six years. She also coached cheer-leading to young girls. Amanda furthered her education to be an OR Tech/Phlebotomist and experienced a lot of neat things. She missed working with children, therefore she went back to school to earn her Child Psychology Certificate. She has been working for the City since 2014 and loves every bit of what she does!
Sherri Middleton joined the SPARC Program during the 2014 Summer Camp and continues to work with the After School Program. Prior to joining the City, Sherri spent more than 20 years in newspaper and magazine publishing while raising two children. She was a Girl Scout and church youth counselor; a toddler and nursery room coordinator; and a volunteer with her children’s school butterfly and garden programs.
Becky Steadham is a native of Gulf Shores. In 2013, she began working with the City of Gulf Shores in customer service and the opportunity came for her to work with children again. Becky had previously worked with a Mother's Day Out program in Gulf Shores for almost ten years. She has been with the SPARC Program since 2014 and loves it! Becky believes "there is nothing more rewarding than working with children; their inquisitive attitudes and loads of energy make them a joy to be around."
