The City of Gulf Shores and surrounding area of the Alabama Gulf Coast have an outstanding system of multi-use pathways, sidewalks and bike lanes that enhance the livability of Gulf Shores, sustain active lifestyles, provide alternate modes of transportation, and deliver rich and rewarding opportunities to connect with Gulf Shores’ beautiful natural environment. Being courteous, considerate, and sharing these facilities will help all users have a safe and happy trip!

Safety

Laws: Riding a bike is a healthy, fun and safe activity. However, it isn't without some risk. The following information highlights 13 areas of law that may minimize that risk and have the potential to reduce conflicts between bikes and cars (and other traffic). Click here to learn more.

Hugh S. Branyon Back County Trail

Seven trails among six distinct ecosystems make up more than 15 miles of the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail complex through Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, Alabama and the Gulf State Park. Click here for more information. 

Gulf State Park

From wetlands and woodlands to beaches and trails, exploring our assorted natural habitats is a non-stop adventure. Discover seasonal flowers and native wildlife on guided tours of freshwater marshes and coastal hardwood swamps, then head over to the Butterfly Garden and take a break when you’re done. Gulf Shores/Orange Beach CVB Trails & Hiking

Walking the thirty-two miles of sugar-white sand beaches is a start, but don't stop there. The parks and recreation trails of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach offer everyone from hikers to casual walkers the opportunity to explore the abundant natural beauty and wildlife of this paradise by the water.
